Arizona Foundation for Women rallied to support the unmet needs of women and children.

The 19th Annual Awards Luncheon attracted 620 guests to The Phoenician to increase awareness of their mission— helping thousands of women and children prevent and overcome domestic violence, child abuse, homelessness and sex trafficking. The luncheon emcee was Lin Sue Cooney and dynamo CEO Sara Presler spoke of the importance of the organization.

With Southwest as the presenting sponsor, it was an outstanding array of community leaders who raised $300,000, including Harvey Mackay, Marilyn Seymann (AFW founder), Elva Coor, Leslie Rich, Felice Appell, Dr. Belinda Barclay-White, Dr. Vicky Jones, Lorraine Field (luncheon chair) and Dr. Chevera Trillo (board chair).

The Sandra Day O’Connor Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Cindy Hensley McCain while other awards went to former Rep. Linda Smith and Justice Rebecca White Berch. Special guest Marilyn Carlson Nelson, last year’s recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award, spoke about improving the lives of women and children.
