As a Valley business leader and owner of Urman Enterprises—a full-service real estate firm—Ronit Urman was a fitting choice for the role of the Phoenix branch of the National Association of Women Business Owners newest president. NAWBO’s latest social media hashtag, #SmashTheGlass, epitomizes her mission within the organization. “To me, #SmashTheGlass means so much,” she says. “It means breaking the glass [ceiling], and bringing luck and new beginnings. I personally broke that ceiling in 1986, when I was offered a partnership in a CPA firm. And, now, as NAWBO’s Phoenix president, I am helping others break more glass.”
THE BRUNCH BUNCH Arcadia Farms Café(7014 E. First Ave., Scottsdale) is Urman’s go-to spot for brunch with the girls. “I enjoy sitting at their patio, and they have a great menu.”
NO BAD HAIR DAYS At BBV Salon (7440 E. Sixth Ave., Scottsdale), Urman rests assured knowing her hair is in good hands. “You can always count on seeing the same people every time.”
DINING OUT Urman adoresCafe Monarch (6939 E. First Ave., Scottsdale) for celebratory dinners. “The atmosphere, service and food is outstanding. It’s very easy to forget that you are in Scottsdale.”
EASY RIDER When adrenaline strikes, Urman heads to Barlow Adventures(3009 AZ-89A, Sedona). “For some adventure, I love to drive to Sedona and rent a Jeep for off-roading.”
TACO TIME Like a true Arizonan, Urman gets her taco fix at The Greene House (15024 N. Scottsdale Road, Ste. 100, Scottsdale). “The ahi tuna tacos are to die for.”
