The Phoenix Art Museum's Bright Night

| January 9, 2017 | Parties

IN LIVING COLOR
Bold fashion and beautiful artwork abounded at The Phoenix Art Museum’s Bright Night.

THE PARTY
Phoenix Art Museum offered Valley VIPs an exclusive peek at the works of internationally celebrated artist Kehinde Wiley at Bright Night, an evening benefiting the museum’s exhibition and education programming.

THE GUESTS
Top Valley philanthropists Billie Jo and Judd Herberger and Phoenix Museum’s Sibil Harrington director Amada Cruz were among the attendees.

THE HIGHLIGHTS
Guests embellished themselves in their most festive, colorful attire in honor of Wiley’s culturally significant exhibition, A New Republic (on display through Jan. 8). Wiley is known for his vivid, striking portraiture, which displays modern African-American men and women in powerful and heroic poses. M Catering served up small plates and heavy hors d’oeuvres as guests imbibed fine wines and custom cocktails, taking in the artwork and jaunty floral designs. A tropical lounge invoked a vacation feel, with relaxing, cheerful timbre of steel drums swelling through the hallways. It was a bright night, indeed. ‒Lauren Swanson
