The ARTrageous Benefit Gala

| February 24, 2017 | Parties

The ARTrageous Benefit Gala blended art, music and philanthropy in perfect harmony.

Multiplatinum-selling musician Michael Feinstein serenaded more than 500 guests at Scottsdale Arts’ annual ARTrageous Benefit Gala.

Gerri Smith chaired the event, which last year featured actor Martin Short as its celebrity performer. Susie and Don Cogman were the honorees of the night for their generous contributions.

Feinstein—known nationally for his expertise and advocacy of the Great American Songbook—crooned classic songs by everyone from Fred Astaire to Frank Sinatra. “I chose songs for the evening that are part of the Jazz Age,” he said, “but still have the energy that connects to the world today.” Guests enjoyed an elegant three-course dinner with the performance, followed by The Speakeasy After-Party, with more live music, dancing, desserts, cigars and libations. Proceeds for the night will support performances and exhibitions by Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, Scottsdale Public Art, and the collective’s public outreach and education programs. “All of us, in every moment of our lives, have the opportunity to change someone’s life by the way we interact with them,” Feinstein says.
