Style in the City

| November 9, 2015 | Parties

THE PARTY The first night of Phoenix Fashion Week at Talking Stick Resort, a showcase for designers in the Lifestyle category, brought a parade of mesh fitness tops, bohemian skirts, floral shirts for men, graphic tees, skinny jeans and other items of street style. Night Two, devoted to High Fashion, offered a mix of classic retro pieces by Laura Tanzer, feminine black and pink tulle by Lousy Rich and solid bold knits by Michi Knitwear. The final night, sponsored by Modern Luxury Scottsdale magazine and categorized as A Night of Luxury, was a riveting finale to the Valley’s version of Paris Fashion Week. Designers, like Azmara Asefa, Leola Sky and Michelle H├ębert revealed their eccentric sides, adorning models with regal capes, sparkling crowns and eye patches as they strutted down the catwalk in delicate gowns. THE GUESTS Fashionable attendees included Oscar De la salas, America’s Next Top Model contestant Kacey Leggett, The Bachelor contestant Kat Hurd, True Religion Jeans co-founder Kym Gold, EVINE Live Vice President of Fashion David Miller and former Arizona Cardinals coaching intern Jen Welter. The blogger set was represented by Venessa Kaufman of We The Classy, Alyssa May Wilson of Sincerely Truly Scrumptious XOXO, Amy Black of Amy’s Vintage Closet, Lauren Garcia of What Lola Likes and others. Miss Arizona 2015, Maureen Montagne, dazzled the crowd in the final gown of Albert Andrada’s collection. THE HIGHLIGHTS The Style Villa nightly marketplace gave fashionistas the chance to shop for designer apparel and accessories. The main event began on a hot note with a fire-breathing model donning bikinis from Charmosa Swimwear; the fire-hued collection earned designer Neide Hall the title emerging designer of the year for the Lifestyle category. Fashions from Hues of Ego, a womenswear brand by ASU graduate Natasha Duran-Lynch, were huge crowd pleasers, as well. Also enthralling were the nightly afterparties at Talking Stick Resort’s 14th floor nightclub, Degree 270. Fashion at its finest. –Photos by Jonathan Puente Photography
