It’s 1973 in South London, and teenage friends Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook form the band that will see them dubbed “The New Lennon and McCartney.” More than four decades later, with their legacy intact and as vital as it has ever been, Squeeze is still touring and reminding fans worldwide just why they became a fixture of the new wave movement and left such an indelible impression on the U.K.’s music scene.
Squeeze has long been a captivating live act with an array of chart hits and a vast catalogue, including songs such as “Black Coffee in Bed,” “Up the Junction,” “Tempted,” “Take Me I’m Yours,” “Slap and Tickle,” and “Pulling Mussels (From the Shell).” The concert will also include songs from the band’s latest album, Cradle to the Grave, its first collection of new tracks since 1998.
Squeeze’s current lineup includes Glenn Tilbrook (vocals/guitar), Chris Difford (vocals/guitar), Simon Hanson (drums), Stephen Large (keyboard) and Lucy Shaw (bass).
