Spanish Spice

| October 12, 2015 | Parties

THE PARTY Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts’ Live & Local Fridays showcased Inspiración Flamenca, a high-energy dynamic dance troupe. Guests enjoyed preshow happy-hour drinks and assorted hors d’oeuvres from Distrito before making their way into the Virginia G. Piper Theater for the flamenco performance. THE SCENE Key players in the success of the evening included Julia Chacon, Inspiración Flamenca’s founder and star; and her mentor, Lydia Torea, who was in the audience. THE HIGHLIGHTS The gift store offered 10 percent off purchases during the final performance of the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts’ 2015 Live & Local Fridays summer concert series. Mexican bites and drink specials began promptly at 6pm. Vocalists were accompanied by Spanish guitar riffs (led by guitarist Monte Perrault, and guitarist and vocalist Kristofer Hill) while dancers swirled in colorful costumes and executed fiery footwork, making for a vibrant season finale. Dance soloist and founder of Caló Flamenco, Martín Gaxiola moved rhythmically to the dynamic routine. –Photos by Haute Event Photography
