In the age of organic, conscious living, spirits haven’t really stepped up, keeping consumers in the dark about what’s really in their cocktails. Philip and Kristen Risk, cofounders of Be In Good Spirits, decided to develop a vodka with functional ingredients that are clearly labeled on the bottle. Free of refined sugars, synthetic pesticides, GMOs and artificial colors, Frankly Organic Vodka uses organic fruits, roots and botanicals like turmeric, ginger and maca root. “I love vodka but never knew what I was drinking because ingredient labeling is not a requirement in the spirits industry,” says Risk, an enthusiast for organic and medicinal cooking, and former sales executive for Samsonite and American Tourister. “I wanted to change that.” Last year alone, Frankly Organic Vodka won multiple medals in prestigious spirits competitions. And there’s a benevolent purpose—1% of all revenue is given back to animal welfare causes. $22, Total Wine & More, 10320 N. Scottsdale Road, Ste. 110, Scottsdale
