THE PARTY
A silent auction at SMoCA and sumptuous dinner in the atrium of the Center brought together 460 fashionable guests who appreciate the cultural activities presented throughout the year and raised an impressive $427,000 for education and world-class programs.
THE GUESTS
The artistic crowd of faithful supporters included honorary chairs Mike and Paulette Miller, Rebecca and Bill Ponseti, Billie Jo and Judd Herberger, Deborah and Tim Bateman, Mayor Jim Lane, President and CEO Neale Perl, Event Co-Chairs Gerri Smith and Mary Collum.
THE HIGHLIGHTS
Following the dinner was a performance by the hilarious, lovable, irreverent comedian and actor Martin Short, who ignited the sold-out audience of 800 by acting out many of his zany characters. He created even more laughs when he invited the mayor onstage with two other men, gave them sombreros and taught them the Three Amigos Salute. Local E Street Band rock musician Nils Lofgren was the fortunate victim of an outrageous interview by Jiminy Glick… yet another wild character. Need we say more? -Photography by Casey Sapio
