Scottsdale Cinematheque: My King (Mon Roi)

| July 8, 2016 | Calendar

Perfect for adventurous movie-goers and lovers of fine cinema, Scottsdale Cinematheque showcases new independent, foreign and art films that are not screened at other Valley theaters. New films are introduced each month, with multiple screenings on selected weekends, all with reserved seating. Curated by Scottsdale International Film Festival Director Amy Ettinger, the Cinematheque series also will include occasional guest appearances and live-video discussions with filmmakers, when available.

Tony is admitted to a rehabilitation center after a serious ski accident. Dependent on the medical staff and pain relievers, she takes time to look back on a turbulent relationship that she experienced with Georgio. Why did they love each other? Who is this man that she loved so deeply? How did she allow herself to submit to this suffocating and destructive passion? For Tony, a difficult process of healing is in front of her, physical work that may finally set her free.
