Additional Information: This summer SASSI is inviting you to experience a culinary journey of Italy, without ever having to leave the Valley. SASSI’s Summer 2014 Food & Wine Series provides the unique and intimate experience of learning to prepare a variety of Italian delicacies with one of the finest chefs Scottsdale has to offer. Starting on Wednesday, June 25th Executive Chef Christopher Nicosia will host an interactive demonstration of authentic Italian cooking inspired by the varied regions of Italy. To complete the culinary experience, several hand-selected wines will be paired with each evening’s featured dishes so guests may be fully immersed in the rich, regional flavors of the course.
SASSI is an award-winning restaurant with an ever changing menu of classical Italian cuisine that focuses on fresh and rustic Italian cooking and utilizes locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. Designed for home chefs of all skill levels, SASSI’s cooking class participants will have the opportunity to learn recipes and enjoy a light, one-course meal featuring the food presented during the demonstration.
Each cooking class is $59 per person, which includes service charges and sales tax. The evening includes three four-ounce glasses of wine paired to harmonize with the meal from the evening’s demonstration. Wines will be available for purchase following each demonstration. 2014 Summer Food and Wine Series Schedule:
Wednesday June 25th will feature a list of basic Italian grocery items and some easy recipes for basic Italian dishes. Patrons will enjoy three Italian wines that are perfect for summer dining.
Wednesday July 9th will showcase SASSI’s Sicilian delicacies such as Eggplant Caponata and Rigatoni alla Contadina, paired with three elegant Sicilian Wines.
Wednesday July 23rd will present classics of the rustic Calabria region. Recipes include Polpette alla Melanzane and three delightful wines from Southern Italy.
Single classes are $59 per person, or purchase all three for $150. Three additional classes will be offered in August and September. Select one, two or three classes and pay with a credit card online at www.sassi.biz. Cancellations up to 48 hours before class will receive a full refund.
