When Adrian and Lynn Heyman decided to start working together—one to stage homes and the other to sell—their road to success was inevitable. We checked in with this dynamic duo for some insight on how their partnership flourishes in the hot Scottsdale luxury real estate market.

Adrian Heyman, a real estate agent at The Agency in Scottsdale (theagencyre.com), began working with his wife, Lynn, in 2004 when he received his license. From the start, he knew the benefits staging a home could bring. “Staging creates and brings warmth to the home, adding an extra layer of luxury that, without it, can often overwhelm people on how to decorate or utilize a room,” he says. “The fact is buyers engage more on staged homes. That has resulted in more competition, fewer days on market and, often, a sales price that has exceeded expectations. In a nutshell, staging creates the illusion of the ideal lifestyle.”
“It’s almost like a magic trick,” adds Lynn, a home stylist and designer at reThink Interior Design and Lifestyles (rethinkinteriorsandlifestyles.com) since 2016, “and the benefits are proven, with the statistics that staged homes sell faster, and on the average sell 20% higher, than properties not staged.”
“Right now, the luxury real estate market is phenomenal,” says Adrian. “Demand still far outweighs supply and there’s simply more luxury buyers than there are luxury homes available for sale. It’s frustrating and stressful for buyers, but as sellers, it’s an amazing opportunity to capitalize on an already hot market.”

Most recently, Adrian and Lynn, who celebrate 23 years of marriage, worked together on a new home in Paradise Valley that resulted in a sale in 90 days. “Adrian got a listing in Paradise Valley that had gone through two different luxury realtors and had been well over a year on the market,” explains Lynn. “It was a beautiful, impeccably built property by West Construction that needed a new look and relaunch on marketing. It’s what we do best together.”
The goal of this refresh and staging is the same goal Lynn has for every staging project: to support the realtor and the seller to sell the property for as much as they can and as quickly as they can. “The design when staging is to always think about who the buyer is, how to connect to them and their price point, and to understand their needs,” says Lynn. “We take an empty room, and in a matter of hours, we show how furniture, art and accessories can create a beautiful, livable space that evokes the feeling of home.”
“Lynn has an amazing eye for design, is very detail oriented, and with her expertise I have a unique and special addition to my arsenal as a luxury agent,” says Adrian. “Every buyer still wants an amazing kitchen, living and entertaining space, not to mention a primary suite that’s their sanctuary. Backyards and outdoor living spaces with an emphasis on fun yet style and function continue to be at or near the top of the list.”

However, since the pandemic, Adrian has noticed a shift to buyers seeking more privacy within their homes. “People are really looking for a larger home office, gym/workout rooms or yoga studio, and a larger garage or RV/toy space,” he says. “Guest quarters and private casitas have also become a must for those needing to accommodate extended family visits.”
When staging a home, Lynn designs each room by understanding the scale and function of every room first, then balancing the sightline of art and colors in the room, and always incorporating texture into each room for the final touch.
When asked how it’s been working side by side with their spouse all these years, Lynn laughs. “We’re smiling and laughing all day long!” But jokes aside, she says, “We luckily do have fun together and it’s rewarding to be a part of each other’s success. Plus, he’s cute and I love hanging out with him!” Adrian adds, “It’s also incredible to see her in her element and working her skill set because I think that many partners don’t have the opportunity to see the other do what they do best.”
