Bourbon & Bones’ highly anticipated second location at SanTan Village is open. Part of restaurant group Square One Concepts, the restaurant is pleased to deliver its unique brand of contemporary steakhouse, featuring elegant yet unpretentious fine dining, to the East Valley. “The East Valley is a strong, bustling region and some have considered it an underserved area for years,” says S. Barrett Rinzler, founder of Square One Concepts and owner of Bourbon & Bones. “We prepared for the opening of Bourbon & Bones at SanTan Village in Gilbert for more than a year, all the while recognizing that the area has a sophisticated population that has often traveled to Scottsdale for a fabulous steak and fine dining experience. We’re happy to say that now they don’t need to.” On any given day, you can order the Japanese A5-9 Wagyu—a true delicacy. Pair it with the Michter’s smoked rye Manhattan or, for wine lovers, a Paradigm cabernet, and enjoy. 2150 E. Williams Field Road, Gilbert, 480.597.9459, bourbonandbonesaz.com

At his live culinary variety show Alton Brown Live: Beyond The Eats, Brown says fans can expect “more cooking, more comedy, more music and more potentially dangerous science stuff.” Critics and fans have raved about the interactive components of Brown’s shows, which have a knack for mixing together science, music and food into two hours of entertainment. This time, he warns, “prepare for an evening unlike any other, and if I call for volunteers… think twice.” mesaartscenter.com

How often do you drive alone? For trendsetters seeking a driving experience that is unique, fun and environmentally friendly, look no further. ElectraMeccanica Vehicles Corp.’s single-occupant, three-wheeled electric vehicle, Solo, is sure to be the talk of the East Valley. This Canadian designer and manufacturer has chosen Mesa to house its first U.S. assembly facility and engineering technical center, aiming for completion by March 2022. “Arizona has historically been known to have environmentally friendly consumers and early adopters to EV,” says President and CEO Paul Rivera. The center will feature multiple labs to support ongoing vehicle, chassis and power electronics testing as well as comprehensive research facilities. In addition, a light vehicle assembly plant will support its anticipated demand for its flagship Solo EV. Available in four colors—black, white, red and iridium silver—Solo has all the premium comforts of a multiseat passenger vehicle including remote keyless entry, power steering, power windows, air conditioning, heated seats, Bluetooth entertainment system and more. “There has never been a better time to reimagine transportation than now,” notes Rivera. “The Solo provides a unique solution to social distancing preferences in place of other short-distance transportation options like ride-share or public transit.” With zero emissions, zero sound and zero time spent going to the pump, it may be time to drive solo. electrameccanica.com/solo

After three years of photographing and listening to the stories of those who drive Arizona’s wine business, award-winning photographer, designer and Scottsdale resident Jenelle Bonifield has released AZ Uncorked: The Arizona Wine Guide (Arizona Wine Media). An exquisite 11-inch-by-9-inch coffee-table book clocking in at a whopping 544 pages, Bonifield’s tome showcases the tales of 45 vineyards, tasting rooms and trailblazing winemakers, from Page Spring Cellars’ Eric Glomski to Caduceus Cellars’ Maynard James Keenan. “My concept for the book began with this goal: to provide a resource for Arizonans to learn about the many vineyards throughout our rugged high country and the fabulous wines our winemakers create,” she says. “I hope that people will enjoy the book as much as I have enjoyed creating it.” arizonawineguide.com —Allison Mitchell
