St. Jude brought some joie de vivre to A Night in Monte Carlo at Scottsdale Hangar One.
THE PARTY Buckets of Veuve Clicquot and a cool mise-en-scène put the 200-plus guests in a vacation state of mind for St. Jude’s Monaco-inspired benefit. The live and silent auctions and a Rolex Raffle, courtesy of Coffin & Trout Fine Jewelers, brought in more than $178,000 to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s ever-necessary mission. THE SCENE Toting Tito’s Handmade Vodka drinks, the crowd attended Arizona’s premier silent disco at the afterparty. Co-chairs Oscar De las salas and Carey Pena came and went among the Champagne and the conversation, lighting up the atmosphere wherever they were. THE HIGHLIGHTS Lauded auctiontainer Letitia Frye was recognized with the Letitia Frye Humanitarian Award in tribute to her decade of support for St. Jude. Frye brought the audience to tears as she regaled the moment she decided to take action with the organization: “I barely had any money in my bank account at the time. But it made me realize that you should give even when you have nothing. I can’t emphasize that enough. Give... even when you have nothing.” -Lauren Loudermilk
