Canadian import Moxies makes a delicious impression at Scottsdale Fashion Square.
Moxies can accommodate up to 350 guests in the lounge, dining areas and outside on the misted, covered patios.
Canada-based Moxies has landed in Arizona with a new outpost at Scottsdale Fashion Square. The former Thirsty Lion space has been completely redesigned and expanded, with a huge patio and a modern look. The upscale casual restaurant—which serves weekend brunch, lunch, dinner and a late-night menu—is known for an appealing mix of high-end design, globally inspired cuisine and impeccable service. And it’s great for various celebrations, from date night to a casual lunch to a group birthday dinner.
Boasting 12,000 square feet and accommodations for 350, the modern-chic space has a breezy, indoor-outdoor feel, with a lounge, dining areas and misted, covered patios. The restaurant’s design by 5G Studio and Eatz Enterprises makes a statement with abundant greenery, gold and crystal accents, large-format porcelain tile and contemporary artwork. Sports fans will love the island bar wrapped in 65-inch televisions and the TV-laden patio, which boasts oversize fire tables that each comfortably seat 14 people. Music-wise, the soundtrack ranges from feel-good Top 40 beats during lunch to a lively brunch playlist and energizing late-night tunes.
Popular menu items include the Scottish salmon with ancient grains, lemon herb sauce and fresh seasonal vegetables.
Leading the beverage scene is an impressive selection of freshly handcrafted cocktails and margaritas. There are several highlights, including the Fusion Fashioned, made with Toki Japanese whisky, Knob Creek rye, cane syrup, double bitters, orange and lemon peels; the Millionaire Margarita prepared with Herradura Legend añejo, Grand Marnier Cuvée Louis Alexandre, organic agave and fresh pressed lime; and the spicy mango margarita made with Ghost tequila, mango and fresh lime juice. There’s also an extensive wine list.
The seared ginger tuna salad with sushi grade ahi, edamame beans, avocado, snap peas, cashews, cucumber emulsion and Thai peanut dressing.
The menu—globally inspired with comfort food and modern American cuisine—is made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients. An ideal meal starts with tomato bruschetta made with roasted tomatoes and creamy whipped feta. Next, try the chipotle mango chicken, a dry-rubbed Bell & Evans chicken seasoned with a housemade chipotle blend paired with a mango puree for a sweet and spicy flavor. End the meal on a sweet note with the Mile High mocha pie, built with fudge layers and a cookie crumble filling. Other menu highlights include the tuna sushi stack, the salmon and avocado cobb salad and steak bites.
The blackened mahi mahi, served with chorizo and corn hash, creamy mashed potatoes and “salsacado.”
This all-day spot is a welcome addition to the Scottsdale dining scene. For more intimate gatherings, book a table in the dining room or on the patio, and for more lively get-togethers, hang out in the lounge. Moxies Scottsdale promises a unique fusion of upscale aesthetics and an inviting atmosphere. Whether it’s a romantic evening, a lively celebration or a casual lunch, the restaurant helps diners savor every moment.
