The Heard Museum hosted a night of music, magic and art for its annual Moondance fundraiser.
The Party Moondance at the Heard Museum invited art lovers to view the exhibition Of God and Mortal Men: Masterworks by T.C. Cannon from the Nancy and Richard Bloch Collection. The night celebrated honorees Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona and Pulitzer Prize-winning author N. Scott Momaday with a video by multimedia artist Steven J. Yazzie. The SCENE Guests wearing Southwest-inspired jewelry sipped Champagne in the Freeport McMoRan Plaza, specially festooned with polka dots reminiscent of Cannon’s signature motifs. Arizona Taste provided a menu of giant prawns and beef tenderloin with au gratin potatoes and roasted Brussels sprouts. The Highlights Winners of the silent auction took home coveted items like gorgeous turquoise squash blossoms, antique beaded bags, unique experiences and a one-of-a-kind inlay stone bolo tie by lapidary artist Jesse Monongye. All guests left with a copy of Momaday’s The Way to Rainy Mountain (1969). -Lauren Loudermilk
