Arizona’s most prestigious Amateur Golf Tournament will be played at The Country Club at DC Ranch August 22-27. The event will host the best golfers in the State to compete for the State title.
In order to qualify, players have to compete throughout the state and the best 144 contestants will be able to participate.
The Club is honored that the AGA has chosen The County Club at DC Ranch to host the 92nd Championship. It was the host in 2011 and now again in 2016. The Club believes in assisting the allied associations and having select championships when they can in the summer months.
It is nice to be able to showcase the club and course for its quality of design, course conditions and level of service. Designed by Tom Lehman and John Fought, The Country Club at DC Ranch has spectacular views that frame all 18 holes making the course one of the most prime locations in the entire valley.
The field is comprised of the best male players in the state who understand the magnitude of winning this championship and having their name on the trophy for the rest of time. This is not just another tournament, this is THE championship for Arizona amateur golf for 2016 on a demanding golf course where the best player will be defined next week.
Last year Ken Tanigawa of Phoenix finished his impressive run at the 91st Arizona Amateur with a 4-and-2 win over Austin Fletcher.
