New York, New York. If you can make it there, you can make it anywhere. Kate Spade New York is more than proud to call the Big Apple its backyard, and its new Fall 2021 campaign puts that love on display with a playful collection of handbags, dresses, blazers, accessories and more.
Capturing all the hustle, bustle and brilliance of NYC’s character, the campaign comes to life in a series of bright and cheerful images shot by photographer Gus Powell and styled by Stella Greenspanand.

The collections’ charming character comes across even more in musical-inspired videos featuring models dancing to a take on Petula Clark’s 1965 classic “Downtown,” choreographed by Dylan Pearce. It’s the latest in a year-long celebration of Kate Spade NY’s city roots.
“New York City is our brand’s hometown and our backyard. It’s a constant source of inspiration, and this season, we’re falling in love with our city all over again,” Kate Spade New York Chief Marketing Officer Jenny Campbell is quoted in a press release. “Through our continued partnership with Dylan Pearce, we are rediscovering what we love about our city, while celebrating the resilience of NYC, and encouraging others to do the same in their own hometowns.”
“This campaign really inspired me to think about dance in a new way,” Pearce is quoted. “Looking at dance as a vehicle—to physically move and explore a city—was such an exciting creative challenge. I love how this campaign captures the joy of travel and movement again, especially after many months spent indoors.”
Models kick and twirl in the middle of busy NYC crosswalks dressed to the nines in Kate Spade’s bright pinks and animal print pieces. The Fall 2021 collection is cute and quirky, but with all the sophistication of the Manhattan skyline.
New York City is represented in much of the collections’ prints and designs, from the apple-shaped “I Heart NY” crossbody bag to the apple-studded jacquard sweater. The gogo taxi flat is an adorable nod to those famous yellow taxis, and the on a roll Metro-card shaped zip cardholder is to die for, but there are more subtle nods to NYC style, too.
The foliage plaid sugarcoat and gramercy parka would make a statement in any city or town, and the mikayla boot in leopard is sure to turn heads wherever you travel.

Beyond keeping clients looking chic, Kate Spade NY has committed $75,000 to The National Council for Mental Wellbeing, providing important funding for Mental Health First Aid training, education workshops and more to New Yorkers in the artistic community.
“We are so proud to expand our partnership with The National Council for Mental Wellbeing this Fall,” Campbell is quoted. “This donation is an important piece of our love letter to New York, allowing us to continue to support the local community who has given so much of themselves during the pandemic to create joy and optimism.”
