Prepare to experience the power of dance as Jacob Jonas The Company takes up residence at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts. “Jacob is very authentic in his approach, and his interest in building community grabbed my attention,” says Abbey Messmer, director of programming at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts. A perfect fit, Jonas and co-founder Jill Wilson will make the most of their time in Scottsdale getting to know the community and hosting public talks, workshops and a private masterclass. The center is also working with composer Okaidja Afroso, who crafted the music for Jacob Jonas The Company’s work Crash for two workshops, including an interactive performance with Scottsdale Art’s Memory Lounge participants affected with memory loss, as well as their care partners. “We received a lot of positive feedback on the residency events we publicly hosted in September and look forward to engaging with participants and Scottsdale residents when the company returns in January for their public performance,” says Diandra Adamczyk, Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts’ senior programming coordinator. Jan. 31, 8pm, tickets $18-$45, Virginia G. Piper Theater, 7380 E. Second St.
