THE PARTY
Sponsored by Acura, the gala was a celebration of the car-collecting community’s generous charity fundraising efforts. Thousands of auto-industry execs and car aficionados attended, but they had no clue Zac Brown Band would rock the house until the Grammy Award-winning country music artists took the stage. The evening’s entertainment had been a closely guarded secret, so the crowd, understandably, went wild.
THE GUESTS
Among those in the packed house were Kimberly and Dennis Collins; Gov. Doug Ducey and his wife, Angela; Scottsdale Mayor Jim Lane; Carolyn and Craig Jackson; Johnnie and George Benson; and Ruthie and Gordon Johnson.
THE HIGHLIGHTS
Excitement generated at the party continued for the next 10 days, when nearly 1,500 vehicles were on the auction block, including 11 that raised a total of $3.4 million for charity. Most noteworthy was the 2017 Acura NSX VIN #001, a supercar that fetched $1.2 million to benefit the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and Zac Brown’s Camp Southern Ground. -Photos courtesy of Barrett-Jackson
