Food for the Pour

| January 19, 2016 | Parties

THE PARTY Nearly 500 guests gathered at the Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North for an evening of libations and hors d’oeuvres at the Scottsdale League for the Arts’ Cooks and Corks event. A foodie’s paradise, the party boasted killer cuisine by a handful of the city’s top chefs in support of local arts programming. THE GUESTS VIP attendees such as Mayor Jim Lane and Fabulous Arizona’s Cynthia Sassi indulged in a Champagne-filled happy hour prior to the event. During the party, Restaurant Live AZ’s Joanie Simon tried a bevy of tasty treats and kept her Instagram followers up-to-date with her favorites, like chef Lee Hillson’s ramen with A-5 Japanese Kobe beef and shitake mushrooms served in ginger miso broth and topped with a quail egg. THE HIGHLIGHTS Partygoers bid on hot-ticket items like a one-night stay at The Phoenician with dinner for two at J&G Steakhouse during the silent auction. Throughout the evening, The Joe Costello Syndicate crooned, only to be outdone by special performances by two of SLA’s recipients. The best part of the night, however, had to be the $40,000-plus raised—ending the evening on a high note. –Photos by Debby Wolvos and Tavits Photography
