"I have always been spiritual and led a holistic lifestyle, however, it wasn't until one of my family members started struggling with her mental health that I began my journey of holistic healing,” says Monica Samuels. "Through the past seven years of navigating her healing journey, I learned about alternative modalities that heal the mind, body and soul.” Samuels opened Quasar Quantum Healing in 2021, and since then, the holistic wellness center that has a Himalayan salt cave, yoga studio and five machines that help with circulation, immunity, inflammation and more has grown to offer weekly practices including yoga nidra, sound healing and ecstatic dance. "I have found that there are many like-minded people in Scottsdale that incorporate holistic wellness and alternative modalities into their lives,” Samuels shares. "This collective dedication to health inspires me to continue to forge the path of integrated wellness and bring it to more people in Scottsdale and beyond.”

"In college, I started thinking I wanted to be a nurse, but then began to wonder if I could help people improve their health before they ended up in the hospital with negative health outcomes,” says Jamie Miller. "I have always loved food and being creative in the kitchen, so I decided to combine my passions of health and food and became a dietitian.” Miller, a dietitian at Village Heath Clubs & Spas, doesn't take a one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to her clients. "I believe that there's many different paths to achieve a healthy, balanced body,” she says. "The best route will be the one that's maintainable long term and enjoyable.” One thing that she does see as a universal motivator for everyone, herself included, is Scottsdale's incredible climate. "It's a blessing to live in a city with such amazing weather,” says the Central Phoenix resident, who is continuing to grow her clientele. "It [always makes] me want to be active and get some fresh air and vitamin D.”

After achieving success with the first location of The Workshop Pilates in McCormick Ranch, Jackie Parks and Ariel Schwartz are expanding with a stunning new outpost in DC Ranch this April. "The Workshop Pilates North Scottsdale will be much like our McCormick Ranch studio, with some definite upgrades,” says Parks. "We are excited to bring our calming and spalike aesthetic to North Scottsdale, while also providing an energizing and well-rounded workout.” In addition to classes, the DC Ranch location will offer an expanded teacher training program, new workshops and even nutrition sessions. "Jackie and I are ready to pour our heart and souls into this next location,” says Schwartz. "We are so lucky to have an incredibly talented team of teachers who support us, and we look forward to continuing to grow with them.”
