The Arabian Horse Association of Arizona a non-profit organization, is preparing to kick off the largest horse show in the world this February at the prestigious event venue of WestWorld in Scottsdale. This year marks the celebration of the organization’s 62nd Annual Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show and Shopping Expo begins Friday, February 16th and runs through Sunday, February 26th.
Each year, thousands of the globes finest horses enter this event and come from points all over the world to compete for the coveted prize of Scottsdale Champion. AHAA is expecting over 2,500 horses to participate this year.
Each year, international and stunning Arabian horses compete with one another in a wide variety of class events. There are also costume classes in which a rider and horse are adorned with elaborate dressings that often speak to the history of the breed.
Along with the engaging performances, event attendees will have the opportunity to see exhibits featuring fine art, crafts, clothing and jewelry in the Shopping Expo adjacent to the main arena. Artisans and entrepreneurs come to show their hand-made leather goods and offer a wide variety of products and services. A food court will also be designated featuring elegant and sophisticated food served by on-site culinary experts.
Visitors are also welcome to visit the barn areas where they can meet the owners and have the opportunity for littles ones to pet the horses. Those interested in getting up-close to these horses are also encouraged to attend to the “Behind the Scenes” tour, or the Meet an Arabian Horse exhibition.
