Feathers and flapper dresses abounded at Great Hearts Academies’ first-ever gala.

Touting a Gatsby theme, the Great Hearts Gala drew more than 600 guests, who feted the occasion with their best Roaring ’20s attire, complete with fringe, furs, fedoras and sequined headbands. The night raised crucial funds for Great Hearts Academies, which supports training and development programs for teachers in Arizona.

Bonnie and Jon Brovitz, Nicole and Billy Cundiff, and Michele Davis co-chaired the event. Caribe Devine, 12News meteorologist and one of Modern Luxury Scottsdale’s 2016 Women of Style selectees, emceed.

High-profile attendees sipped on Champagne and enjoyed a gourmet meal while keynote speaker Dr. William Bennett, former secretary of education under President Ronald Reagan, hosted a question-and-answer session about the state of education along with three students and three teachers. After a live auction and raffle, the night concluded with dancing and live music by Affinity. The inaugural gala raised nearly $500,000 from 60 sponsors. Talk about a roaring good time. –Lauren Swanson
