“When I was younger, I wasn’t allowed to wear makeup, so of course I rebelled. On the bus going to school, I would do all the girls’ makeup,” says Gucci Westman, celebrity makeup artist and founder of Westman Atelier. The Swedish-born beauty, who was raised on an ashram, has always had a passion for clean living. “What you put in and on your body all correlates—it all goes hand in hand,” she says. “Having that kind of philosophy in regard to how I live and work as a makeup artist, it’s always felt right that my line should be about wellness too. It was always very clear to me that I wanted Westman Atelier to be as natural and consciously crafted as possible. We deserve more from our products!” Here, we polled Westman for her clean-beauty secrets.
“For evening, I like to add a bit more definition to my eyes. I’ll dab a bit of Super Loaded tinted highlight in Peau de Soleil on my eyelids. It creates a really pretty warm, golden luminance.” $75, Cos Bar, Kierland Commons
“I alternate applying Lit Up highlight stick under or over my foundation. For extra radiance, I apply a little to my cheekbones, nose, cupid’s bow, tear ducts and a bit under the eye. Lit Up is truly a sophisticated highlighter: It’s glassy and makes your complexion luminous. And, it’s hydrating!” $48, Cos Bar, Kierland Commons
“Today, I’ve used the blender brush to sweep Peau de Peche over my cheekbones. The blender brush was specifically crafted for this product to help you identify where your cheekbone is, making application supereasy. All of our brushes are handcrafted in Japan.” $125, Cos Bar, Kierland Commons
“I just got Mutha’s body oil, and I’m in love with it. It gives you the best glow.” $104, violetgrey.com
“Bynacht’s Glass Skin serum is a new favorite. It’s deeply hydrating and really plumps my skin.” $320, shen-beauty.com
“When my skin needs an extra hydration boost in the winter, I like using the high-performance face cream in extra rich by Macrene Actives. It’s ultrahealing for parched, dry skin.” $335, Neiman Marcus, Scottsdale Fashion Square
“I alternate between a few cleansers depending on the season and how my skin is feeling. Pai has this great rose hip oil cleanser that doesn’t strip my skin.” $56
