THE COUPLE Georginna Quijada and Matt Ghanem met the way most couples do these days—on a dating app. “We bonded over our mutual love of a well-done Old-Fashioned and ended up talking the night away,” says Georginna. A proposal on a cliff near Magic Island Lagoon in Hawaii followed.
The outdoor ceremony was set against the scenic Camelback Mountain at Mountain Shadows.
THE PARTY The views of nearby Camelback Mountain sold the couple on their wedding venue, Mountain Shadows. “My vision for the wedding was romantic with class,” says the bride, who tapped wedding planner Storm Hulsebus of BTS Event Management to bring her dream to life. “I wanted the decor to be heavy on florals—something that would speak to my love of bohemian style but with luxe touches, which speaks to Matt.” White, blush, burgundy and rose flowers by Haleigh Brownlee of Flora, paired with dazzling chandeliers and rich linens, tied everything together. A nightclub DJ and a late-night snack bar featuring a variety of french fries and waffles kept things fun. The next day, the pair hosted a brunch with friends and family and served their leftover Funfetti- and Champagne-flavored cake from JL Patisserie.
The couple’s sweetheart table featured plenty of florals and greenery by Haleigh Brownlee of Flora.
THE HONEYMOON While the pandemic has delayed their planned honeymoon trip to Dubai and the Maldives, the newlyweds enjoyed a minimoon to Virginia near their residence in Washington, D.C.
