This Halloween weekend, Salt River Fields will once again light up the Valley skies with glowing hot air balloons, fireworks and more at the 7th annual Balloon Spooktacular. Hosted on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 27 & 28 from 5-9:30 pm, kids of all ages will love this spectacularly spooky festival featuring nightly firework shows, live music, a pumpkin patch and a free KidsZone. Plus, dare to stroll the Spook Trail, a fan favorite manned by local high school students and featuring surprises around every corner. Not to mention, more than 20 majestic hot air balloons illuminating the sky as they participate in the world's longest continuous glow at over 3 hours, as well as offering tethered balloon rides and balloon candy stations serving up more than 4,000 pounds of candy.
The 7th annual Balloon Spooktacular offers a safe, fun and memorable trick-or-treat experience for the whole family, including nightly Costume Contests for kids, adults and groups. Shop the Spooktacular Marketplace for arts, crafts and merchandise from local shops, or sip and savor beverages and holiday-themed foods from dozens of on-site vendors.
But the star of the show is a soaring, fire-fueled display of more than 20 glowing hot air balloons, each with a station for trick-or-treaters to graze for candy and awe in the light of theses colorful masterpieces provided by Aerial Solutions. In addition to the candy stations, guests can "soar" in tethered balloon rides by Rainbow Ryders Inc. for $25 for adults, $15 for kids 10 & under. Plus, don't miss the Spook Trail, an annual favorite that transforms the walkways of Salt River Fields into an excitingly frightening path developed and guided by Saguaro High School students. Plus, donations will be accepted to support the Saguaro High School choir program to support their events and activities throughout the school year.
Take a break from all the spooky, soaring fun at the KidsZone, where kids can run around and play at over 40 games and attractions including inflatable bounce houses, slides and an obstacle course, and its all FREE with your Spooktacular admission. Or peruse the Pumpkin Patch Photo Booth Area where families and friends can take pictures with the pumpkins and download them for posting on Instagram and Facebook. The Balloon Spooktacular ends with a nightly fireworks show at 9pm.
