5 QUESTIONS WITH... Scottsdale Artist Niki Woehler

Ela Sathern | February 16, 2021 | People culture

Popular among collectors, corporations and interior designers, Arizona-based artist Niki Woehler ( is painting the town with the debut of her first art gallery and working studio in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale. “It’s always been a dream of mine to open a gallery,” she says. “I hope everyone who views my work can see the love and passion I put into each piece and becomes inspired to follow their own dreams.” Here, Woehler takes us inside her colorful world.

I’m most excited about… working with a team of engineers and riggers from Hollywood to devise and install a system in my studio that will allow me to fly across enormous canvases to paint.

My newest collab… is with David E. Adler Fine Rugs. We’re turning one of my favorite paintings, “Silent Partners,” into a beautiful silk rug. I’ll never sell this painting, so it’s a beautiful way to be able to share it.

My favorite thing about working with interior designers is… creating commissioned pieces. There’s something amazing about seeing the space the work will live in before I start painting.

The luxury I think is worth every penny is… original art. There is very little that has the power to emote feeling and transform the entire dynamic of a room the way art does. Surround yourself with what brings you joy and gives you comfort.

Next up… I’m working with a manufacturer in Italy to produce a line of beautiful silk scarves from a few pieces of my art! Scarves elevate even the simplest outfit to a whole new dimension, conveying whatever mood you’re in that day.
